Luis' Pitch

Never was

Premise:

A kid named Facundo (Facu for short) has had the ability to see the subtle world since he can remember, a dimension that is only talked about by hallucinogen enthusiasts. Things like Elvin creatures, spirits, Field consciousness, Portals, Alien beings etc.. Have always been a part of his day to day. He is aware that no else sees this and hence becomes a very solitary person. He always used to go to the woods, since there things were more peaceful. In civilization the things he sees become much darker and macabre the older he gets. After his fallout with girl he is warned by the voices of the forest that he will lose his ability to remember them since humanity has long (in material years) lost its touch to the higher world and even though Facu has a gift he will eventually and gradually be tuned out of his connection with the higher dimensions. All that will remain will be the hollow interpretation his brain tries to make as he intersects the higher realms. Knowing this facu begins to write down everything he can remember for days on out. Later in his life he uses these notes and travels to the amazon in search of an Amazonian ritual known as ayahuasca in which a shaman shares a DMT containing drink and guides the pupil into the realms of the psychedelic. Upon doing the ritual Facu is shot back into the hyperspace which he never wandered into as a child, the shaman recognizes facu as no ordinary person and warns him of the answers he seeks. Facu then proceeds to grow psychedelic plants which he uses to traverse into the other place. He slowly begins to lose notion of time, things start becoming mixed up. Memories overlap his current experiences and he start to forget what time he is in. first hours, then days, weeks, months. When he finally catches up with his mind he is dumped in front of his friend Lawrence’s house. He runs in and tries to explain everything to Lawrence who honestly tries to but fails in part due to the fact Facu can’t finish a single thought. He asks him where the girl is. Lawrence says he hasn’t seen her in years. Facu tells Lawrence that the girl is the key to his sanity. He begins to pace in the room as he talks as Lawrence reaches for a chair to sit. Facu loses balance and falls to the ground, when his body hits the floor he goes through it in a manner similar to the effects of salvia and he is shot across hyperspace into the future, past, present, parallel present, other galaxies, universes, beings etc. when he comes to he is in a grass field surrounded by buildings he can’t recognize he begins to wonder in this empty megalithic land. (This is the third act) He comes in contact with all sorts of creatures bearing a lot of resemblance to mythical creatures and entities of many religions, cultures etc. he then reaches a clearing (I’m not sure what this final place out to be) but he is confronted by Lawrence who then reveals all that he had been looking for. (This is the most emotional part, still debating the content of this scene) he takes him by the hand and everything morphs around him. He is reunited with girl and he realizes the whole time he had been with her. (Ending still not certain)

Story outline

Act 1

Story opens with a young kid named Facu running into the woods.
As the kid gets deeper and deeper into the woods, you began to see taller and taller trees surround him.
The kid is unaware that on his way out from school a young girl had started to follow him.
The little girl gets lost in the woods, she is following facu as fast as she can, but while passing one of the big trees he disappears.
Not yet scared she starts to look for facu in the trees.
As the sun begins to go down she gets bored and tries to head back home, however she cannot.
She begins to wonder aimlessly and you start seeing the frustration build in her face.
She starts to cry, she is caught off by facu who scares her by jumping off a nearby tree right in front of her.
Facu talks to her and walks her home.
On the way home she asks him what he was doing in the woods by himself for so long.
He ignores her and continues to keep talking as though uninterrupted.
Facu is interested in the girl, because no one had ever followed him in the woods.
When he gets to her house he tells her to never come back in the woods, that she got lucky, that nothing happened to her.
She asked him what does he mean by that, and he tells her the only reason he saved her is because they told him she had a good heart.
She asks him who “they” are, facu gets flustered and runs off.
Story builds relationship between facu and the girl.
The girl listens to facu and doesn’t follow him to the woods again, but she begins talking to him in school.
Always asking him questions about the woods which he constantly avoids and he asks her weird questions that she doesn’t understand.
Some of her friends after awhile start asking her why she had been hanging out with the forgien kid.
She hadn’t even realized that Facu wasn’t from the U.S
Facu has a very extensive vocabulary and his behavior and mannerism are completely different than those of the kids around them.
Many shots expand on this notion.
One day exactly one year after Facu and the girl had met she gets mad and demands him to show her what he does in the woods.
She is very into Facu because he seems so different but she has no idea what happens in Facu’s head and this frustrates her. She knows he likes her because she’s the only person that she has ever seen him talking to besides his parents.
Facu of course tells her that that’s out of the question, she tells him that they can’t be friends unless her trusts her.
Facu then ignores her and walks off. That same night at around 2 am she wakes up to knocking on her window, right as she’s about to scream for her parents her eyes adjust just enough to see the familiar silhouette of Facu.
She opens the window to discover Facu wild eyed and battered. His eyes bloodshot, dirt all over his clothes, missing a shoe, hands scrapped with mild bleeding and general scratches and cuts all over his exposed skin.
He begins to loudly ask her why did you go into the woods, she says she hasn’t gone to the woods since that time, that she wanted nothing to do with him to please leave her room.
He continues to repeat over and over again why did she go into the woods.
She tells him to come in and sit down, when she goes to get some towels to clean him up, she notices him murmuring to himself.
She only catches a couple of words: time, space, life, parallel, meaning, existence.
When she comes to him he gets quiet and just looks straight at the wall.
She begins to clean him, and asks him wtf happened.
He doesn’t acknowledge her, she slaps him very hard he then just stares at her and asks her again why she had gone into the woods.
She then sits down and tells him that ever since the 2nd grade she had noticed him not get into a bus or be picked up by his parents. He just would walk off in the opposite direction of everyone.
She would always look at him walk until he would turn the corner and disappear out of her sight, until one day she got the courage to follow him and so she did.
He says he knows that but what brought her the courage? She said curiosity.
He begins to ramble to her about the dancer following a stranger into the woods and many other things that sound like a father talking to a child.
She then tells him to shut up and stop treating her like she’s stupid and that if he doesn’t tell her what he goes off to do in the woods, then he can kiss their friendship good bye.
Defeated by her words Facu grabs her hand and tells her “you know if I tell her this nothing will ever be the same for you…. Or you’ll think I’m a delusional schizophrenic.”
She tells him to tell her already.
He says she’s just a kid but then again so is he. So he figures she might be able to handle it.
He begins to tell her how it all started. (story of facu’s beginning)
When facu finishes talking her, he looks at his friend to try to read what she could be thinking but she just gets up and goes to the bathroom.
When she comes back she says you know you’re crazy. None of that could possibly be true.
He shrugs and says yeah I know I know. He jokingly says was just messing with her. However it is very clear that his tone of voice changes to a dulled out talk that seems staged as though he’s said this time and time again.
He walks off back to the window climbs out and leaves her.
The camera to follows Facu as he walks across town and the buildings become spare and the forest begins to thicken
He continues to walk past the end of the trail deeper into the woods
He reaches a clearing filled with flowers and plants alike
He throws himself to the ground and looks up at the stars
The woods grow quiet and a hum begins to be faintly heard
“Why me?” facu asks to no one
“But my Christian upbringing along with many other things makes me the worst candidate”
He laughs

“So I’ll forget all this huh?”
“Then why show me!? Why give me access to so much to only be forgotten”
“Yeah the human consciousness is unaware but if I am different why do I still fall to the same fate as everyone?”
“Well I do feel like an individual but know we are all it. That doesn’t make me feel any different; my mind is shut off to everyone just as they are out of reach to me. How did we used to do it?”
Facu continues to talk to what appears himself
(couple other things happen furthering the plot and the relationship Of Facu and girl. They are at some point separated, she moves to another country or state)
Cut to facu being a 24 year old
He is in South America
He is looking for yage
He finds it
Drinks it
He remembers
Life to facu had become very dull, being diagnosed with schizophrenia he had become even more recluse since he knew that behind his back, the word was passed along and everyone knew of his condition. Those who didn’t and began to talk to him would be quickly informed and next day would treat him as the others do. Always being a loner this didn’t bother him much. He was getting by, by general standards. He grew plants which he sold at farmer’s market, sold drugs on occasion, never sticking to any regular job. He would at times try… only to leave mid interview or mid orientation. He did manage to make a few friends

Lawrence: Facu’s only real friend, he accepts the things that facu tells him. Being from Kenya, mysticism was very much alive in his mind, not personally having experienced it however he couldn’t really connect with facu, but something inside him told him this Argentinean schizoid wasn’t completely insane.

Terence: They met each other in the Amazon. Terence originally believed facu to be bonkers. But early in their journey the both tried magic mushrooms which Terence ate way to many of. Lost in hyper psychedelic space Terence thought he’d gone mad until in the mist of his trip he saw Facu approach him and everything around him along with the visions focused on Facu. The beings no longer seemed interested in Terence then Facu Began to talk to them. Terence never doubted Facu again

Girl: She strongly felt an attraction to Facu ever since she saw him being introduced to her 2nd grade class. She always wanted to talk to him but he never was to be found in recess and in class they never really sat near, in the third grade she finally followed him out of class and into the woods. In her 20’s she has become a clinical psychologist specializing in mental disorders. She hasn’t seen Facu since grade school. She plays a much bigger role than anyone can imagine

Psychedelic world: Facu has always been able to see things no else can ever since he could walk. He would often wonders into dark places and always be attracted to gravesites, pre-historian structures etc… any place that seemed to have some sort mysticism around it Facu was immediately drawn to. The psychedelic world is the setting once he loses his physical body; it is a no solid, constantly transforming landscape full of geometric patterns that tessellate into shapes, structures, beings etc…  It’s full of beings which always have a grinning smile in their faces. There is a sense of hive mentality since things seems to have some sort of rhythm. The wackiness is seen in the beginning but as the world deepens things lose more and more familiarity (pictures for reference)
